Dijana Winter, M.Ed., Reiki Master-Teacher, of the Center for Inner Peace (www.dijanawinter.com) in Penfield articulates for me how and why Reiki can be effective.
As a Certified Reiki Master from the Center for Inner Peace in Penfield, NY, I spent 18 years studying metaphysics prior to my training in Reiki. I believe Reiki, like massage therapy, should be affordable and accessible to people from all walks of life.
To break down Reiki client stereotypes I want to offer the benefits Reiki as a reliable, local service at an affordable price to people in the South Wedge and Rochester, NY.
As a full-time New York State Licensed Massage Therapist, I offer a wide range of appointment options from 7am to 8pm Monday through Saturday. I have a professional office space right here in the South Wedge at 728 South Avenue for you to experience Reiki. What is a Reiki session like? When you experience Reiki, you are lying on a massage table fully clothed and on your back. I will place my hands lightly on, or a few inches above your head, throat, chest, stomach area. Reiki occurs with a series of hand positions. Each position is held for approximately 5 minutes. During your Reiki session both client and therapist have the opportunity to focus within and the potential to allow perceptions of space and time to change. This can create a new experience of the present moment; it is in the present moment we become open to allowing the past to be forgiven and forgotten, and where we can ask for help to let go of thoughts of the future. During a session even a tiny moment of this experience is enough to allow changes to occur at a fundamental level.
People experience Reiki treatments differently from person to person, and from session to session. Along with a deeply relaxed feeling, you might feel a tingling, or a feeling of warmth near where Reiki is being experienced. Or you might feel no specific sensations at during the treatment; you might fall asleep. After Reiki clients will often feel a new sense of inner calm and renewal.
